| A PRESENTATION FOR PARENTS Designed for community leaders, Parenting the Net Generation addresses family interests and concerns on issues that arise when young people go online. This workshop takes approximately one hour to deliver and touches briefly on many key Internet issues:
- Safety
- Privacy
- Marketing
- Ethics and cyber bullying
- Evaluation of online information
Comprising a PowerPoint presentation, speaking notes, and a workshop guide with handouts for participants, the presentation is designed for Parent Councils and Parent Associations, Libraries and Community Groups. In June 2006, the Canadian Home and School Federation and Media Awareness Network formed a partnership to create a national school-based Internet safety program for parents. Thanks to this partnership and funding generously provided by Bell Canada, Parenting the Net Generation is available for free to all parent councils of English schools in Canada until July 31, 2008. To access the workshop from Alberta, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon please contact licensing@media-awareness.ca. All other provinces, please contact your provincial representative of the Canadian Home and School Federation listed on their Web site at: http://www.canadianhomeandschool.com/ federation/members.htm.
